Building champions one rep at a time since 2018
We're not just trainers - we're athletes, competitors, and people who genuinely get what it takes to push past your limits. Every coach here's been in the trenches themselves.
Head Coach & Founder
Started this whole thing back in 2018 after competing in CrossFit regionals for 4 years straight. Got tired of seeing people plateau 'cause they weren't training smart. Built Jorvex to change that - combining what actually works from Olympic lifting, powerlifting, and functional movement.
Performance Coach
Former track athlete turned strength coach. Spent 6 years working with college athletes before joining us. She's the one who'll fix your form when you think it's already perfect - trust me, she's got an eye for biomechanics that's kinda scary.
Nutrition Coach
Derek keeps it real with nutrition - no fad diets, no BS cleanses. Just solid science-backed meal planning that fits your actual life. Lost 80lbs himself back in the day, so he gets the mental side of it too.
HIIT Specialist
If you've taken one of Jamie's classes, you know she doesn't mess around. Former MMA fighter who brings that intensity to every session. But she's also weirdly good at knowing when to push and when to pull back.
Look, we started Jorvex 'cause we were frustrated with the whole gym scene in Vancouver. Too many places focused on selling memberships instead of actual results. We wanted something different - a space where serious athletes and regular folks who just wanna get strong could train side by side without the pretentious vibe.
Training's a journey, not a destination. Yeah, that sounds cheesy but it's true. We're not here to promise you'll look like a magazine cover in 6 weeks. We're here to help you build real strength, actual athletic ability, and habits that stick around.
Opened with just 800 square feet and 12 members. Marcus was coaching morning sessions and working construction in the afternoons to keep the lights on. Had more kettlebells than people those first few months.
Took over the unit next door and doubled our space. Added proper Olympic lifting platforms and brought Sarah on board. Finally had room for group classes without people dodging barbells.
Yeah, COVID hit hard. Pivoted to outdoor training sessions in the parking lot when we had to close. Lost some members but gained respect from the community for keeping people moving safely.
Hit triple digits in membership. Brought Derek on to handle nutrition coaching 'cause people kept asking for it. Started seeing our athletes compete in local competitions and actually placing.
Created our competitive team for members wanting to test themselves. Had 8 athletes qualify for regionals that year. Still one of our proudest moments watching them out there.
Complete renovation - new flooring, upgraded equipment, added recovery zone with massage guns and foam rollers. Jamie joined us to lead our HIIT programming. Place finally looks like we always imagined it.
Over 200 members strong. Four full-time coaches. Running 25+ classes per week. But honestly? The best part's seeing someone hit a PR they've been chasing for months - that never gets old.
We're not gonna promise you the moon. But here's what you'll actually get at Jorvex.
Not just someone counting reps. We're watching your form, tracking your progress, adjusting your program when things aren't clicking.
Yeah, we've got competitive athletes. But we've also got desk workers, parents, and folks just trying to feel better. Everyone's cool here.
We invest in quality gear - Rogue racks, Eleiko bars, Concept2 rowers. If you're putting in the work, you deserve proper equipment.
Everything's based on what actually works - periodization, progressive overload, proper recovery. No random workouts just for the sake of making you tired.
Come check us out. First session's on us - no pressure, no sales pitch. Just training.
